Punching Past History: The Art of Turning Pain Into Passion

It’s important to understand that anyone in life that has reached a high level of success, has had to bleed for it.

Sometimes that process of bleeding has been physical, and other times it has been emotional. Either way it was a requirement, a price, for the success that they achieved.

Whether that success was in art, dancing, business, writing, sports, relationships, or even spirituality, the recipient of self made success always has had some major obstacle that they overcame and/ or have had to bleed for, in order to attain their respective success.

The Greatest Obstacle

One of the greatest obstacles in life is the past.

Our pasts have the ability to crush our spirit in ways that even our worst enemies couldn’t do.

This is because our thoughts and feelings toward the past are perpetuated internally, and any force that is originated from within, has the ability to dominate and overrun the entirety of our lives.

Here’s the rub:

You cannot change the past. No matter what you do, no matter how you try, you cannot change the past. What you can do however is give your very best in this moment, in order to create a better future.

It’s important to understand the fact that:

Something that no longer exists, cannot in itself harm you in this present moment. It is only the meaning that you give to it, by the power of your own thoughts, that actually has potential to hurt you. Therefore reliving past hurts, is akin to self harm in the present.

If you don’t want your past to hold you back any longer, stop giving it energy. Stop giving it focus and attention. Because it is your energy and focus alone, that feed and make strong your past; giving it power over you.

Because whatever you give the most amount of your attention to, is what you will get more of. This is a Universal law, and one that no one can escape.

You see, if you keep thinking about the pain, the problems, and every negative thing that you’ve been through, all you do is set yourself up to experience more of it. And doing this is a surefire way to make yourself into a victim in life, for life.

Break the Chain

You must free yourself from the past, or that motherfucker will destroy you. It will weigh you down, hold you back, and drown your potential in the present within a sea of doubt and pain.

You must cut the chains, and make a commitment to be free.

You must start making decisions in life. You must decide what it is that you want to do.

You must ask yourself questions like “What is my calling?” And “What is my purpose?”

By doing this you will start to take control of your life; control that will lead you away from the darkness of a life wasted, and toward the light of achievement.

Because at the end of this lifetime, when all is said, done, and lived — you can only really feel one of two things:

  • Miserable regret at a life not lived

  • Deep fulfillment at having done what you were supposed to do

You only get one chance at this life, and I challenge you to live with that fact tattooed at the forefront of your mind. Because death is the best reminder, the best alarm clock, the best notification to start to Live More Than You Exist. What if you only had one day left on this earth, how would you feel about what you’ve done, and what you’ve accomplished?

Are you really going to allow your past to keep you in the passenger seat of your life? If you are, then don’t fear anyone or anything else apart from yourself. Because if you’re content in letting your past dictate your future, then there is no enemy greater to you than yourself.

Kill Your Inner Victim

Stop being passive. Stop being a victim.

Don’t let what happened to you before in your life, get in the way of your present; instead let it fuel and push you further.

Make a conversion of energy; Convert your pain into passion.

Live in the NOW, not the past.

You’re alive right NOW.
Today is a factory of opportunities.
Today is the day that YOU can change things. The day that a few years from now, you can look back upon fondly. The day that you will remember as the catalyst, and the day that you look back on and say “THAT was the day I finally committed. THAT was the day when I started my life’s real journey.”

You are alive right now. Use the gift of life to forge the life that your desire.

Because the truth my friends, is that there is no greater shame in life than not trying. And there is no greater shame than not giving it your all.

If you’ve gone through it all and you’re still here, alive and breathing, that means you’ve got some work left to do.

So stop stop reading this article, and go break the chains to your past.

Until next time, make sure to Live More Than You Exist.
